Anna's Bay Chorale - Artistic Director

In 2015, I was selected to be the artistic director of Anna's Bay Chorale.

The Chorale is a non-auditioned community choir open to any singer (age 14 or higher) with any level of singing experience and training. It rehearses on Tuesday evenings, from 6:30-8:30PM. Thanks to the continued gracious support of Father Joe Mikel and the vestry of St. David of Wales Episcopal Church, we are able to hold our rehearsals in Shelton, WA.

The Chorale’s season includes two major concerts annually, a Spring Concert and a Winter Concert in addition to various other performances.  In the past several seasons the Chorale has also collaborated with the Bremerton Symphony and Bremerton Symphony Concert Chorale on programs featuring Bach, Bizet, Beethoven, Brahms, Puccini, Wagner, and more.

Music in The Parks

Since 1999, I have coordinated music festivals for Music in the Parks. Targeted as end of year festivals for middle and high school students, the festivals I have overseen have grown from a few hundred participants in one performing venue to almost 3000 participants over three weekends in seven performing venues. You can read a recomendation from the national director here.

K-12 Vocal Music Instructor

I spent eight years as a K12 Choral instructor in Oregon and Washington. During those eight years, I taught over 1000 students to sight-read, analyze music in its historical context and perform those pieces to a high standard. Some of my former students have gone on to become music teachers, actors, and professional musicians.

Contemporary Worship Ensembles

I have been leading contemporary worship ensembles in the local church since 1994. From choosing the set list, to conducting rehearsals, I have done it all. I have studied ensemble leadership (and contemporary orchestration) with Dr Tim Smith, and I have performed with Gary Hemmenway, Richard Probabsco, Dr Tim Smith, and more. Currently, I am a worship leader, play keyboard, guitar, electric guiitar and/or bass guitar and sing tenor. I also serve as head of AV at Gateway Christian Fellowship in Shelton WA.

Audio/Visual

Audio/Visual Lead

Along with production of the sound through vocal performance, I have been involved with the RE-production of sound since 1989. I have spent many years behind sound boards mixing live performances for local churches and school performances. My knowledge of sound mixing, infrastructure, and use has taken me to the position of Audio/Visual ministry head at my current local church. In this capacity, I recruit, train, and schedule a crew of volunteers for multiple services each week for sound, light and video projection. Additionally, I design and implement lighting, staging and wiring schematics for all special services to ensure the best sound and visual quality for the service.

My knowledge of sound, lighting and projection equipment and infrastructure puts me at ease behind any gear you may have, and will allow me to quickly and professionally communicate with, or troubleshoot for, sound and lighting professionals.

Composition

I have composed pieces for contemporary worship ensembles, classical choral pieces, Instrumental pieces designed for middle school band, two complete masses for choir and piano, two Christmas musicals, one Easter musical, and many art songs.
